Chelsea legend, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has slammed his former club’s poor performance in the 1-1 draw against Nottingham Forest in a Premier League encounter on New Year’s Day.
The Blues failed to build on their 3-0 win over Bournemouth on Boxing day with a lacklustre performance.
Raheem Sterling opened the scoring for the visitors early in the second half, before Serge Aurier equalised for the hosts in the second half.
Hasselbaink, who made 169 appearances for Chelsea between 2000-2004 expressed his worry about the lack of creativity in Graham Potter’s team.
‘It was far from good enough from Chelsea,’ Hasselbaink said. ‘You know at 1-0 up Forest will do something different, and you need to be able to deal with that.
‘What really worries me as that they don’t create chances. You have to come here and win. It doesn’t matter how, you need to come here, bottom of the league, and win.
‘And if you draw, the best player on the pitch has to be Dean Henderson, and that wasn’t the case. Its bad defending from Chelsea. Everyones looking at the ball and forgetting about Aurier.’
Chelsea have won just once in their last seven Premier League games, and their poor run has put their chances of making the top four in doubt with seven points behind fourth-placed Manchester United.
