Manchester United Confirm Butland Signing

Manchester United have confirmed the signing of goalkeeper Jack Butland from Crystal Palace on loan until the end of the season.

Butland joins United to serve as the second choice goalkeeper after Martin Dubravka was recalled by Newcastle United.

Butland has made 87 appearances in the Premier League and he is expected to be a quality backup for De Gea.

Butland is delighted to join Manchester United.

“This is an amazing club and one that I am now proud to represent.

“I’m really looking forward to working with an unbelievable goalkeeping group, supporting each other every day to create the best training and playing environment for the team.”

He added: “I’ve played against David De Gea and represented England alongside Tom Heaton; they are top-class keepers and I am relishing the opportunity to compete alongside and support them as teammates.

“There is a lot that this group can achieve this season and I’m excited to play my part in helping everyone to reach these ambitions.”

Erik Ten Hag can now count on the services of David De Gea, Jack Butland and Tom Heaton in the goalkeeping department.

Manchester United will take on Everton on Friday night in the FA Cup.
