Chuwkuweze shines as Villarreal stun Real Madrid in La Liga

Nigerian winger Samuel Chuwkuweze played the entire game for Villarreal as they stunned Real Madrid with a 2-1 win on Saturday.

Chuwkuweze was a thorn in the flesh of Madrid defenders and despite not getting on the scoresheet, the winger created three chances and was instrumental to the Yellow Submarines defensive calls.

Yeremy Pino scored the opening goal for Villarreal but that lead will be clipped 13 minutes later as Benzema pulled Real level from the spot following a handball.

Gerard Moreno fired Villarreal in front for what turned out to be the winner from the spot after David Alaba’s handball, the Yellow Submarines holding on for a 2-1 win.

Not a regular result for this fixture, Chuwkuweze and Villarreal walked away with their first win over the champions in 5 years.

Villarreal are enjoying a positive run of form and are currently placed 5th on the La Liga standings.
