Dessers on target as Cremonese defeat AS Roma to reach Coppa Italia Semi-final

Nigerian striker Cyriel Dessers scored the opening goal as his club Cremonese secured a 1-2 win over AS Roma to reach the Coppa Italia Semi-final.

The Super Eagle converted a first half spot kick to set the Italian Serie A basement side on the road to victory over their more illustrious opponents.

Dessers was substituted by compatriot David Okerekke in the 46th minute.

A Celik own goal will gift Cremonese a 0-2 lead over Jose Mourinho’s side. Tammy Abraham and Belloti will combine for the latter to score in stoppage time as Cremonese held on for a 1-2 win.

Their League woes nothwistanding, Cremonese are through to the Semi-final of the Coppa Italia.

Davide Bellaradini’s men will look to this huge win for inspiration as they seek a turn around in fortunes in the league.
