Kelechi Iheanacho makes City survival charge to teammates following win at Villa
Following Saturday’s 2-4 win over Aston Villa, Nigerian striker Kelechi Iheanacho has charged Leicester City teammates to ” do more ” to help the club survive the drop this season.
Leicester City have a endured a difficult first half of the season and we’re without a win in the Premier League since November 2022 before the game at Villa Park.
City manager Brendan Rodgers named Iheanacho in the starting XI and the forward was instrumental to the Foxes’ 2-4 win over Aston Villa.
Iheanacho scored a goal in the six-goal thriller which saw Leicester City fight-back on two occasions before sealing the win.
In his reaction to the victory, Kelechi Iheanacho told LCFC TV ” It’s been a while. But getting this win now, were happy and we can build into the next games.
” Hopefully we can continue in those games. We had a good feeling coming into this games (Vs Aston Villa) .
On what is required of him and other Foxes in the remaining games of the season, Iheanacho said the team will have to do more than the good performance vs Aston Villa.
” We need to do a bit more. It was a good performance but we need to give more, running forward and back, challenging for the first balls and second balls, winning battles, ”
” There’s a lot of things to work on, but hopefully it’s good momentum for the next games, ” Kelechi Iheanacho said.
