Result: Australia, West Indies draw third Test after two-day washout in Sydney

Australia and West Indies have played out an inevitable draw in the third Test at the Sydney Cricket Ground after day three and four were abandoned due to rain.

The final day’s play was delayed due to bad weather, but the rain soon cleared up and the tourists returned to bat on 248-7 after just 86.2 overs were bowled over the first four days.

Denesh Ramdin (62), Kemar Roach (15) and Jerome Taylor (13) all fell, leaving West Indies all out for 330.

David Warner and Joe Burns opened the batting for Australia, and it was the former who impressed by reaching a century off 82 balls – the fastest Test hundred at the SCG.

Jomel Warrican took the only two wickets of the innings as Burns left the field on 26 runs in the 16th over, while Mitchell Marsh managed 21 runs before getting caught by Jermaine Blackwood.

Australia declared on 176-2 with Peter Nevill unbeaten on seven runs. The hosts lifted the Frank Worrell Trophy after previously sealing the series 2-0 in Melbourne.
