It will be the first competitive game for Coach Ayodeji Ayeni tutored Akwa United FC since the NPFL Matchday nine 2-2 draw vs Shooting Stars Sports Club at the Lekan Salami stadium Ibadan on February 19, 2023.

As defending champions, the Promise Keepers were drawn bye for the first round and so will begin their Akwa Ibom State FA Cup campaign at the semi-final stage.

The Promise Keepers will be eyeing a place in the final to attempt a shot for a record extending 14th Akwa Ibom State FA Cup title plus a slot at the National Federation Cup which will take place later in the year.

For Coach Umar Danlami tutored Dakkada FC, having survived a dogged Vandrezzer Academy challenge to reach the semi-final, the game today will present them with an opportunity to end Akwa United FC’s dominance in this fixture and sail into the final.

The Chosen Ones should be without the services of Isaac George and Godswill Nicholas who are on-loan from Akwa United FC.

Both players started the first round clash vs Vandrezzer Academy on Friday March 10, at the Practice pitch of the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo.

About the match venue, both teams are no strangers to the turf at the Practice pitch of the Nest of Champions, Uyo. The venue serves as their official training ground.
