Oshoala’s Barca win 1-0 at Chelsea in UWCL 1st leg
Arsenal face nemesis Wolfsburg in the other semi
Asisat Oshoala was involved as Barcelona beat Chelsea 1-0 in a UEFA Women’s Champions League semifinal game at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
The Nigerian forward got a late clearance for the game after returning from international duty with the Super Falcons injured.
Recall, Asisat Oshoala played for Nigeria this month as they secured a 2-1 win against Haiti, and a 3-0 win against New Zealand.
The former Arsenal and Liverpool forward scored a goal against Haiti and limped off in the second game against New Zealand, but was declared fit for the Chelsea game.
She could only play for 6 minutes as Caroline Hansen’s 4th-minute goal handed Barcelona a hard-fought 1-0 win against Chelsea.
Barcelona take a 1-0 advantage into the second leg.
In the other semifinal, Arsenal will face Wolfsburg with the hopes of getting a favourable result against the Germans who have always gotten the better of them.
