AFCON U-17: We will work very hard hard to beat a very good Burkina Faso – Michael
Golden Eaglet defender Emmanuel Michael has assured Nigerians that the team will do everything to get a win against a really strong Burkina Faso on Thursday.
Nigeria play in a quarterfinal clash against Burkina Faso at the ongoing AFCON U-17 in Algeria at 8 pm Nigerian time.
Both teams are familiar with each other after playing in the WAFU B U-17 final in Ghana earlier this year.
And Emmanuel Michael who scored three goals at the tournament all from set-piece has said his teammates have respect for Burkina Faso but will get the job done.
“We respect Burkina Faso, very good team. The team loves to play and never gives up.
“We hope to win the game. We will work very hard, play to the instructions of our coaches and win the game to qualify for the World Cup.”
Senegal and Morocco have booked their tickets to the FIFA U-17 World cup after 5-0, and 3-0 wins against South Africa and Algeria respectively in the first two quarterfinal games.
The third quarterfinal game will see Mali and Congo go up against each other tomorrow at 5 pm, while Nigeria and Burkina Faso play the last quarterfinal game.
