Jude Bellingham becomes latest Real Madrid Galactico

English teenager joins Los Blancos on six-year deal

Real Madrid have completed a deal to sign 19-year-old midfielder Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund, securing the Englishman with a long-term deal.

Bellingham is one of the most highly-rated young midfielders in world football and at 19 has captained Borussia Dortmund numerous times in his career. The former Birmingham City midfielder moved to Germany aged 16 and has lived up to the hype that surrounded his arrival in the country.

After his impressive showings for Dortmund, speculation was rife over the future of the 19-year-old, who featured and scored for England at the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Bellingham decided to turn down offers from England’s top sides, preferring to pitch his tent in Madrid with Real Madrid.

Real Madrid have paid the sum of €103m for the teenager, with a further €30.9m expected to be paid as add-ons in the deal. Bellingham joins Los Blancos on a six-year contract until June 2029.

Jude Bellingham made 132 appearances for Borussia Dortmund since joining them in 2020 for around €30m. Coincidentally, his younger brother Jobe moved from Birmingham City to Sunderland for £3m today, as well.

Bellingham will team up with Aurelien Tchouameni, Eduardo Camavinga, Vinicius Jr, Rodrygo and Federico Valverde to set up one of the most exciting young squad in the world at Real Madrid.
