Beyond Limits begin Gothia Cup campaign with crushing win

Nigeria’s sole representative at the 2023 Gothia Cup, Beyond Limits FA, began their campaign with a brilliant 3-0 win over Swedish side IK Sirius FK in Gothenburg at the U-17 tournament.

Clearly buoyed by their experience from the MLS Adidas Cup in the USA in April, Beyond Limits looked like the better side in the game. They opened the scoring in the first half through winger Muyideen Olude, before striker Kparobo Arierhi scored his side’s second goal of the game before half-time.

Not to be stopped, the boys from Ikenne scored a third goal in the second half, a beauty from winger Sunday Ogbonnaya. They emerged from their first test of the competition with a convincing win and would proceed to face another Swedish team, Degefors IF, in their second group game tomorrow.
