Ajax send warning to Chelsea and Arsenal over Mohammed Kudus

Ajax have sent warning to English clubs Chelsea FC, Arsenal and any other clubs eyeing a move for striker Mohammed Kudus.

According to Ajax, the transfer fee for the Ghana International will rise as the window progresses towards the September 1 deadline.

London Clubs Chelsea FC and Arsenal have shown interest in signing the 22-year old who scored 18-goals last season and had a fairly good performance at the World Cup.

Kudus is currently valued at £40m ($51m) but Ajax sporting director Sven Mislintat has indicated that the fee will rise further.

“There are clubs that have informally enquired about him. I don’t expect an offer very soon, although you know that things can be different in the football world.

” Perhaps the interest in not as serious as everyone thinks. It is important for us that the relationship with the players remains good.

This can be done by being transparent and applying good principles. As we get closer to the deadline, the transfer fee, for example, goes up,” he stated in an interview with Ajax Life.

Sven also spoke on the clubs stance about player departures, stating that Ajax will be happy to keep Mohammed Kudus and West Ham target Edson Alvarez.

The Sporting Director however said if a good offer that meets the clubs valuation arrives, Ajax will not block any player from leaving.

Chelsea are reportedly very interested in signing Mohammed Kudus. According to multiple sources, the Blues hold reservations over the fee which could lead to the consideration of other options in attack this summer.

Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino wants to improve his forward options and considers the Ajax man a perfect fit.

Ajax have done some transfer business already this summer, the latest Nigerian defender Calvin Bassey who will join Fulham for twenty-million pounds after being asked to leave by new manager Maurice Steijn.
