‘ Spectacular ‘ Super Falcons celebrated by Nigeria’s First

The First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Mrs Oluremi Tinubu celebrated the Super Falcons team in Abuja following their ‘Spectacular’ performance at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Tinubu lauded the Super Falcons’ performance at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup as “spectacular” at the State House in Abuja and expressed delight over the teams dedication, resilience, team spirit, and zeal.

“You displayed the dexterity that defines Nigeria,” the First Lady said in a statement issued by her Special Assistant on Media, Busola Kukoyi after the event on Monday August 14.

“Although the final result did not go our way, I am here to remind you that victory is not solely determined by the score on the field. The unbreakable spirit and unity that you demonstrated are true markers of success,” the First Lady added.

As a result of thier outing at the Women’s World Cup, Tinubu also said the Super Falcons have become role models for young girls in Nigeria as she hopes others can emulate them.

“You have not only represented Nigeria on the global stage but have also become role models for our youth, especially young girls, who now see their aspirations mirrored in you,” she said.

In his remarks, NFF President, Ibrahim Gusau, thanked the First Lady for the warm reception and assured her that the players would continue to give good and qualitative representation to the country.

Speaking on behalf of the players most of whom were absent from the event, Super Falcons skipper Onome Ebi thanked the first lady for her kind words while promising her that the team will continue to make Nigeria proud.
