Head Coach of new Nigeria National League – NNL Club FC ONA PAL Zachary Baraje has promised to deliver continental football at the club in 2-seasons.
Baraje made this disclosure at the Uyo Township Stadium where his team participated at the TICO/ Select Pre-season tournament.
FC ONA PAL reached the semi-final where they lost 3-4 on penalties to Abia Warriors FC after a 1-1 regulation time score on Saturday September 2, 2023.
” They are just starting. They have what it takes. I am trying to bring them up to standard, ” Baraje told Complete Sports of his players.
” We have a young vibrant Chairman who has a lot of good plans for the team. If he is patient with the boys, barring any challenges, l want to see if l can bring something out of this crop of players,”
” As l said, if the management is patient with the boys, in two years they will go to the continent. The boys l have now, if l use them for only this year, next year I reinforce and the success story will be told,” Baraje remarked.
A very experienced gaffer who has worked with Akwa United FC, Katsina United and Nasarawa United coach, Baraje had recently been away from work before his appointment few months ago by FC ONA PAL following their acquisition of a spot in the Nigerian second tier.
“I should just give thanks to God. It has been well, ” the Coach said of life off-field .
” I have been from one club to the other helping the young ones that are coming up as l was not on any full-time coaching job until this one that l am doing now.” Baraje said.
