All hail King Jude: Bellingham debut double settles El Clasico

English midfielder nets brace for Real Madrid against Barcelona

Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham was at the double for Los Blancos as they won El Clasico in style against Barcelona. The young midfielder scored twice for his club in their 2-1 come-from-behind win over their bitter rivals.

Barcelona took the lead in the encounter when a defensive lapse in concentration saw Ilkay Gundogan go through on goal, and the German midfielder slotted his effort under goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga inside six minutes.

The league champions continued to dominate matters in front of their fans, and 20-year-old star Fermin Lopez saw a fierce shot come back off the base of the woodwork.

Real Madrid were left chasing shadows for most of the opening 45 minutes as Barcelona dominated possession and created a number of openings.

The second half began in the same pattern as the first, with the home side doing most of the probing.

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti responded by turning to his bench and introducing Luka Modric, Eduardo Camavinga and Joselu, and this move turned the game on its head as the game became more balanced.

In the 68th minute, Bellingham announced his arrival at El Clasico with a fine strike from 25 yards out. The former Borussia Dortmund man beat Marc-Andre Ter Stegen from range for his ninth league goal of the season.

With the match in its dying moments, Bellingham popped up in the Barcelona box to poke home a miscontrolled attempt by Modric, silencing the home crowd. The 20-year-old has scored ten goals in La Liga this season, and Real Madrid are now four points clear of Barcelona, who suffered their first defeat of the campaign.
