Nigeria Vs Ethiopia: NFF throws gate open for Super Falcons Paris Olympics Qualifier
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has announced that gate will be thrown open for fans to watch the second leg of the 2nd Round of the 2024 Olympics qualifying match between Super Falcons and Ethiopia.
This the Federation said is aimed at encouraging Nigerians troop to the stadium to give maximum support to the women’s national team as they face the Lucy’ of Ethiopia in a Paris Olympics second qualifying round 2nd-leg fixture.
Recall that the Nine-time African champions had played a 1-1 draw in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia in the 1st leg of the encounter with the second leg to take place at the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja on Tuesday, 31st October, 2023.
NFF General Secretary Sanusi Mohammed is quoted by BSN Sports to have announced the free tickets on Sunday morning.
He said,” At this time when we have a new government that loves and supports sports particularly football, we have no option than to do everything to make sure that the Super Falcons qualify for the next Olympic Games in Paris, France.
“We all know the importance of fans cheering up a home team, it goes a long way in boosting the morale of the team in ensuring that the opponents are defeated. This is one of the reasons the federation thought it wise to throw the gates open for fans from all walks of life to come and cheer them to victory against Ethiopia on Tuesday.
“We therefore appeal to Nigerians particularly those living in Abuja and its environs to come and cheer the Super Falcons to victory at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.”
The Super Falcons have missed three consecutive Olympic Games ticket and will be hoping to return to the games on the strength of the spectacular performance at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.
A win or goal-less draw will send Nigeria into the final qualifying round.
