Ndidi joins Super Eagles injury-list ahead of Lesotho and Zimbabwe games
Wilfred Ndidi joins the list of Super Eagles players expected to miss the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification games vs Lesotho and Zimbabwe.
The Nigeria senior men’s national team will begin their World Cup qualification journey this month and will do so without some key players.
Leicester City manager Enzo Maresca on Thursday confirmed Super Eagles holding midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi who has missed two games with a muscle Injury is not expected to be back in action until after the international break.
Maresca made the disclosure in his pre-match interview ahead of the Foxes, English Championship clash vs Leeds United FC.
“Wilf will be out until the international break. It is also a muscular problem,”Maresca told the club’s official website.
” It’s a small thing but when the problem is muscular, even if it’s small, it’s always one week or two weeks because we don’t want to take any risks.”
With the update, Ndidi will join the list of injured Super Eagles stars which also has, Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen, Boavista defender, Bruno Onyeamachi and West Bromwich Albion center-back, Semi Ajayi.
Super Eagles Head Coach Jose Peseiro is yet to unveil his squad for both games.
Nigeria will host the Crocodiles of Lesotho at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo on November 16.
The two-time African champions will then travel to Zimbabwe for a matchday two fixture three days later at the Huye Stadium in Rwanda.
