Real Madrid deny Kylian Mbappe transfer talks

Spanish giants, Real Madrid on Saturday November 4, 2023 denied they are in negotiations to sign Paris Saint-Germain striker Kylian Mbappe at the end of his contract in June 2024.

This follows reports they were in talks to sign the Frenchman as a free-agent.

Spanish newspaper MARCA on Thursday reported that “he [Mbappe] will land at the Santiago Bernabeu” next summer.

“In view of the information issued and published recently by different media outlets, in which there is speculation about alleged negotiations between the player Kylian Mbappe and our club, Real Madrid wishes to state that this information is categorically false and that no such negotiations have taken place with a player who belongs to PSG,” said Madrid in an official statement on Saturday .

Mbappe was frozen out by PSG until August 13 after refusing to extend his contract .

The 24-year-old French national team skipper was not listed for the club’s pre-season tour in Japan and South Korea and missed the French champions’ first Ligue 1 match during the dispute.

The 2023 Ballon D’or second runner-up was eventually brought back into the fold after holding “constructive and positive discussions” with the club.

That notwithstanding, talks of a transfer to Real Madrid has refused to go away and will continue to dominate headlines with Mbappe heading towards the end of his PSG contract.
