Akor Adams hails John Utaka impact to his adaptation at Montpellier
In-form Nigerian striker, Akor Adams has hailed the impact of retired compatriot John Utaka to his adaptation at French Ligue 1 club, Montpellier.
Adams joined former Ligue 1 champions Montpellier from Lillestrom during the summer.
Former Nigeria striker John Utaka, who was part of Montpellier’s 2012 French Ligue 1 title winning team is still around the club’s circle and was around for Adams unvieling and has stayed around to share tips.
According to Adams, Utaka who is presently a youth coach at Montpellier, has helped him a lot since he arrived in France.
“He’s a great guy. For me, he’s a legend, he’s a very top man, he has helped me a lot,” Adams said per PV Sport after Montpellier’s 0-0 draw against Nice on Friday.
“Many times after a game, he gives me comments on my performance because he was also a striker and he has a lot of experience. For me, to have him in the club is a positive.”
Akor Adams has scored seven goals already for Montpellier this season a stat that has increased calls for his call-up to the Nigeria national team.
