Los Angeles Lakers fire coach after NBA Playoff elimination
Following their NBA Playoff elimination, Los Angeles Lakers have decided to part ways with their head coach, Darvin Ham, after two-seasons in charge.
Ham guided the team to the Western Conference Finals in his debut season but couldn’t replicate that success in his second year. Instead, theLos Angeles Lakers suffered a first-round playoff defeat against the Denver Nuggets.
Now, the Los Angeles Lakers are on the lookout for their fourth head coach to steer the team, especially with superstar LeBron James starting his seventh season with the franchise.
This decision represents a significant shift for the Lakers as they seek to rebound from a disappointing season and aim for a deeper playoff run in the upcoming year.
“We appreciate Darvin Ham’s contributions to the Lakers,” stated Rob Pelinka, Lakers vice president of basketball operations and general manager. “We also acknowledge the achievements made over the past two seasons, including last year’s impressive journey to the Western Conference finals.”
