Abia Warriors announce Coach Imama Amapakabo departure
Abia Warriors have announced it’s decision to part ways with Coach Imama Amapakabo after the expiration of his two year contract.
Imama , a 2016 NPFL winner at Rangers International Fc spent the last two seasons with Abia Warriors with the relationship not yielding any on field success .
The club statement announcing the departure of Imama Amapakabo on August 1, 2022 read in Full;
” The management of Abia Warriors Football club has announced that it has parted ways with Coach Imama Amapakabo after the expiration of his two year contract.
The club has thanked him for the services rendered and wish him well in his future assignment.

Abia Warriors and Imama Amapakabo may have had a harmonious offield relationship but the on field struggles Sportsration believes may have contributed to their decision to part ways.
Abia Warriors during Imama Amapakabo’s stint played their home matches in Okigwe , Imo state due to the unsatisfactory condition of their home ground the Umuahia township stadium.
This situation and the difficulty of road travels to training sessions on a daily basis Sportsration believes may have contributed to their relegation struggles in the last two seasons.
In the just concluded NPFL season, a final day win over Lobi Stars secured Abia Warriors NPFL status before the Warriors bowed out of the 2022 Aiteo Cup following defeat in the hands of NNL side Ottasulo Fc on Sunday 31st July 2022.
A two year period of struggling to survive ends for Abia Warriors and Imama Amapakabo who was involved in a ghastly motor accident in December 2021 while on official duties with Abia Warriors.
