AC Milan Eye Nigeria’s Victor Boniface as Striker Search Heats Up

AC Milan are stepping up their search for a new striker, and Nigerian forward Victor Boniface has become a serious option under returning manager Massimiliano Allegri.
With Rafael Leão and Christian Pulisic already confirmed as the main wide attackers, the club is now focused on finding a top-quality centre-forward to complete the front line.
Santiago Giménez, who joined from Feyenoord in January for €32 million, is currently the only natural striker in the squad. However, there are doubts about whether he is ready to lead the line regularly in a team aiming to win the league.
That’s where Boniface comes in. The 24-year-old Super Eagles striker impressed last season in Bayer Leverkusen’s treble-winning campaign and has reportedly attracted Milan’s attention. According to transfer expert Sacha Tavolieri, the club has already held early talks with his representatives.
Although Boniface had a strong season, injury problems and the return of fellow striker Patrick Schick have affected his value in the market. Once valued between €50–60 million, he is now believed to be available for closer to €30–40 million — a price Milan are willing to consider. His salary demands are also seen as reasonable, making a deal more likely.
Allegri is said to be a fan of Boniface’s style of play — his strength, calm finishing, and ability to link up with teammates are seen as big positives. But concerns remain about his fitness, as injuries limited him to just 19 league appearances last season.
Still, Boniface’s goal record is impressive. He has scored 22 goals in 42 Bundesliga matches, making him the fourth-highest-scoring Nigerian in Bundesliga history — behind only Jonathan Akpoborie (60), Victor Agali (32), and Anthony Ujah (30).
Milan are also keeping an eye on another possible signing — Dusan Vlahović. The Serbian striker could be sold by Juventus this summer due to his high €12 million yearly wages. Milan are interested, especially since Allegri has a good relationship with Vlahović from their time together at Juventus. However, any move would likely depend on Juventus lowering their asking price or Vlahović accepting a pay cut.
For now, both Boniface and Vlahović are at the top of Milan’s shortlist as the club look to finally find the right striker to lead their attack in the new season.
