Adekunle Gold Reacts to Manchester United’s Struggles Under Amorim

Nigerian music star Adekunle Gold has spoken out about Manchester United’s poor form during the early stages of the 2024-25 season, expressing frustration over the team’s struggles.

The “Sade” hitmaker is a known Manchester United fan and has regularly shown his support for the club, even visiting Old Trafford to watch their games and modeling for the team. However, in a video circulating on social media, Adekunle Gold shared his disappointment with the club’s performance and offered some advice to their newly appointed manager, Ruben Amorim.

The artist suggested that Amorim should consider selling most of the squad, with the exception of Noussair Mazraoui and Amad Diallo, during the upcoming transfer window in order to rebuild the team.

Amorim took charge of Manchester United after the club parted ways with Erik ten Hag. The Portuguese manager, who previously led Sporting CP to success, has faced a difficult start at Old Trafford.

Since taking over, Amorim has overseen 11 matches, with United winning four, losing six, and drawing one. The team has even endured a four-match losing streak under his management, leaving fans frustrated.

Adekunle Gold’s call for a squad overhaul in January comes at a time when Manchester United’s future under Amorim remains uncertain. However, the manager faces significant challenges in making changes due to financial fair play (FFP) restrictions.

Amorim himself acknowledged the difficulty of making major changes in January, saying, “We don’t have that possibility in January if we don’t take some players [out]. You know the situation better than me. It is not that I am arriving here and know I can spend money changing the team.”

While selling players could create space and resources for new signings, the January window is often a tricky time to make significant moves, as player demand can be limited.

As Manchester United continues to struggle, fans like Adekunle Gold will be hoping for a positive turnaround in the second half of the season.
