Ademola Lookman delighted and looking forward to representing Nigeria

The newest addition to the Super Eagles, Ademola Lookman has finally reacted to the confirmation of his allegiance switch from England to Nigeria.

Lookman, 24, had played 31 games for England under-aged groups but now have been cleared to represent his father’s country, Nigeria.

The RB Leipzig winger on loan at Leicester City would have been a part of the team to the just concluded Africa Cup of Nations but he wasn’t cleared by the world governing body FIFA.

But with the clearance communicated to the Nigeria Football Federation on Thursday, he also has confirmed the news and his readiness to pull on Nigeria’s green jersey.

“Delighted to announce that FIFA has approved my Nationality switch,” wrote Lookman on his Twitter page.

“Thank you for the warm welcome and I can’t wait to put on the Super Eagles shirt and represent the country @NGSuperEagles 🇳🇬🦅.”

Nigeria’s next games are the most important until date as an aggregate win over rivals Ghana will secure a place in Qatar 2022.

Ademola Lookman will be presented with the opportunity to become a fan favourite and instant hit should he power Nigeria past Ghana.

The first leg will be played in Ghana on the 23rd while the return in Nigeria on the 29th of March.
