Ademola Lookman Faces Suspension Risk Ahead of Juventus Match
Reigning African Footballer of the Year, Ademola Lookman is walking a disciplinary tightrope ahead of Atalanta’s Serie A match against Juventus on Sunday at Allianz Stadium in Turin.
Lookman is one of several players on four yellow cards, meaning that a booking in this game will result in an automatic one-match suspension.
The Nigerian forward has received yellow cards in matches against Udinese, Lazio, Como, and Venezia. Against Udinese and Como, he was booked for fouls, while he received yellow cards for dissent against Lazio and for his involvement in a mass confrontation against Venezia.
Recently, there has been speculation about Lookman’s future following a public disagreement with Atalanta manager Gian Piero Gasperini after missing a penalty in the Champions League game against Club Brugge. However, Lookman has moved past the incident and has impressed in his last two matches, scoring two goals against Empoli and playing the full 90 minutes in a 0-0 draw with Venezia.
Another Nigerian player, Kingsley Ehizibue of Udinese, is also at risk of suspension, as he too is on four yellow cards.
