Ademola Lookman hailed as Serie A Most Exciting Player
Former Italy striker Christian Vieri has described Nigeria’s Ademola Lookman as the most exciting player in Serie A. He praised the Super Eagles star for his fearless attacking style and ability to take on defenders.
Lookman had an excellent 2023/24 season and has continued his fine form this term. So far, he has scored 24 goals and made six assists in 31 matches, already beating his previous best record.
The 27-year-old has impressed with his performances for Atalanta, earning recognition around the world. He even made the shortlist for the Ballon d’Or.
Vieri, once the world’s most expensive footballer, said Lookman’s skills make him stand out in Serie A.
“There is no one like Lookman in Serie A,” Vieri told Gazzetta, according to One Football. “Every time he gets the ball, he goes one-on-one. He is fast and strong. He dribbles, takes players on, and shoots with both feet. Left foot or right foot, it doesn’t matter.”
Lookman has recently been linked with big clubs across Europe. Manchester City, Arsenal, Newcastle United, Juventus, and Paris Saint-Germain are all said to be interested in the Atalanta forward.
Atalanta have reportedly placed a €60 million price tag on Lookman. He is under contract with the Italian club until June 2026. Lookman is also the current African Footballer of the Year.
