Ademola Lookman Named in Serie A Team of the Year
Ademola Lookman has been selected for the Serie A Team of the Year after his strong performances last year.
The Team of the Year was chosen by whoscored.com, with Lookman being the only player from Atalanta to make the list.
Other players included are Federico Dimarco, Marcus Thuram, and Hakan Calhanoglu from Inter Milan, along with former Chelsea player Christian Pulisic.
2024 was a great year for Lookman. He helped Atalanta reach the final of both the Coppa Italia and the Europa League. After losing 1-0 to Juventus in the Coppa Italia final, Lookman helped Atalanta recover by scoring a hat-trick in the Europa League final, leading them to a 3-0 victory over Bayer Leverkusen.
Lookman was also the only African player named in the 2024 Ballon d’Or list, finishing in 14th place. He ended the year by winning the CAF Player of the Year award, becoming the sixth Nigerian to win this honor.
