Ademola Lookman nets as Atalanta defeat Cagliari
Ademola Lookman was on the scoresheet for Atalanta as they claimed a 2-0 win over Cagliari in their Serie A meeting. The Super Eagles forward scored his second goal of the season for his side.
Atalanta lost to Fiorentina in their last game in the league but quickly bounced back at the Gewiss Stadium when Cagliari came visiting.
Lookman opened the scoring with his second goal in as many games for the Nerazzurri. The 25-year-old winger was left with a simple tap-in after great work by AC Milan loanee Charles De Ketelaere to play a square pass into his path.
Atalanta manager Gian Piero Gasperini opted to substitute Lookman off after 67 minutes, with Croatian midfielder Mario Pasalic taking his place on the pitch.
Pasalic needed only nine minutes to add his name to the scoresheet as he scored his first Serie A goal of the season to seal the win for his side at home.
The result takes Atalanta up to sixth place in the Serie A standings with nine points from their first five matches of the season. Their opponents are in 19th place, having picked up only two points so far this season.
