Ademola Lookman passed fit to face Chukwueze In Serie A
Ademola Lookman has been passed fit to face countryman Samuel Chukwueze when Atalanta take on AC Milan in the Italian Serie A on Sunday, February 25.
Lookman has not played for his club since returning from the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations where he scored three goals to help Nigeria finish runners-up.
Atalanta coach Gian Pero has revealed that Super Eagles attacker Ademola Lookman has been passed fit for their Serie A clash against AC Milan on Sunday.
Lookman, one of the standout players for the Super Eagles at the just-concluded 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire, recorded three goals and one assist in his seven appearances. However, upon his return to Atalanta, he arrived with an injury and had to sit out their last game against Sassuolo, which they won 3-0.
Next up for La Dea is a fixture against AC Milan at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza on Sunday. Ahead of the match, coach Gasperini has confirmed Lookman’s availability, stating, ‘His return is a further reinforcement for us. He had a good training session yesterday, and the pain has reduced significantly. He will be ready to contribute tomorrow, providing what he has consistently offered us in the past,’ Gasperini said per Pazzidifanta.
Lookman has been outstanding for Atalanta this season, tallying seven goals and three assists in 18 appearances. However, since his departure for the AFCON, Atalanta has secured victories in all five of their games.
If Lookman takes the field tomorrow, he will aim to extend Atalanta’s winning streak. On the opposing side, Samuel Chukwueze will represent AC Milan, the winger has made two appearances for Stephan Pioli’s men since returning from the AFCON.
