Ademola Lookman scores for Atalanta in pre-season defeat
Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman found the net for Atalanta, but his goal wasn’t enough to prevent a 4-1 defeat to Parma in a preseason friendly.
Lookman’s goal came in the 33rd minute, reducing Parma’s lead to 2-1 at that point. However, Parma’s Dennis Man scored twice, with Ange-Yoan Bonny and Anthony Partipilo adding to the tally for the Serie B side.
The match also saw an injury scare for Atalanta as Gianluca Scamacca had to be assisted off the field in the 50th minute.
In their current preseason campaign, Atalanta has played three games. They have won once against their U19 team, drawn 2-2 with AZ Alkmaar, and suffered the recent defeat to Parma.
Looking ahead, Atalanta will face St Pauli in another friendly before their UEFA Super Cup clash against Real Madrid. They will kick off their Serie A season against Lecce on August 19.
