Ademola Lookman scores In Atalanta Win Over Genoa
Nigerian striker, Ademola Lookman scored the opening goal as Atalanta defeated Genoa 2-0 in the Italian Serie A on Sunday, October 22.
Fresh from the International engagements with the Super Eagles of Nigeria, Lookman was named in the starting XI by Atalanta Coach Piero Gasperini at the Gewiss Stadium.
Visiting Genoa came into the match placed 15th in the Serie A standings and on a poor run in recent weeks. The away side slumped to a 1-0 defeat at the hands of AC Milan last week and so we’re aiming for revival.
Atalanta, on the other hand, started the match in sixth place in the league table following a fairly impressive start the season.
La Dea slumped to a 3-2 defeat against Lazio in their last match before the International break and so desired a positive response in front of their fans.
For over an hour, both teams toiled in search of the opening goal, a feat Ademola Lookman achieved with his goal in the 68th minute.
Atalanta doubled their lead late in the game through Ederson to seal a 2-0 win, their 13th win over Genoa in the Italian Serie A.
