Ademola Lookman To Undergo Medical Tests Amid Inter Milan Transfer Talks

Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman is set to undergo medical checks after picking up a calf injury during training with Atalanta, raising concerns about his potential transfer to Inter Milan.

The 27-year-old enjoyed an outstanding 2024 season, scoring a hat-trick in the UEFA Europa League final against Bayer Leverkusen to help Atalanta win the trophy. His performances also earned him the 2024 CAF Player of the Year award.

Lookman has attracted interest from several clubs in the English Premier League, La Liga and Serie A. Inter Milan recently offered Atalanta €40 million for the Nigerian forward and reportedly agreed personal terms that would see him earn €4 million per year.

However, Atalanta rejected the offer, insisting on a €50 million fee. Inter, led by coach Christian Chivu, are preparing an improved bid as they look to strengthen their attack after parting ways with Marco Arnautovic.

According to FCInterNews, Lookman returned to training with his Atalanta teammates but suffered a calf injury while kicking the ball. The severity of the injury is still unknown, and he is scheduled for medical tests today.

Lookman will be hoping the setback does not derail his move to Inter amid intense transfer speculation.

Since joining Atalanta three years ago, the former Everton winger has scored 53 goals and provided 21 assists in 118 appearances across all competitions.

If the deal goes through, Lookman would provide Inter with a much-needed attacking option alongside Mehdi Taremi.
