Ademola Lookman transfer: Juventus to Offer Douglas Luiz Plus Cash
Italian Serie A giants Juventus are reportedly planning to make a move for Nigerian striker Ademola Lookman, with an offer that includes Douglas Luiz and €13 million for the Atalanta forward.
Lookman, 27, joined Atalanta in 2022 and has since made a significant impact at the club, registering 46 goals and 25 assists in 106 appearances across all competitions. His standout performance came last season when he scored a hat-trick in the Europa League final, which attracted the attention of top European clubs.
Although there were rumours about Lookman leaving last summer, with clubs like Manchester United, Arsenal, and Paris Saint-Germain showing interest, Atalanta decided to keep him. The Nigerian forward has continued to impress this season, and speculation around his future has only grown. In the last couple of weeks, Juventus has been linked with a move for Lookman, and it seems they are serious about securing his signature.
According to reports from Dire Giovani, Juventus plans to offer Atalanta Douglas Luiz and €13 million for Lookman’s services at the end of the season. However, it remains unclear whether Atalanta would be open to such a deal. While they have enough midfield cover, they would likely prefer a cash offer that matches their €55 million valuation for the player.
Douglas Luiz, who joined Juventus for €51 million last summer, has not yet fully justified his transfer fee, which makes Atalanta cautious about accepting him in a swap deal. Furthermore, Atalanta may not be keen on taking Luiz, given his struggles to make an impact at Juventus.
Lookman’s contract with Atalanta runs until 2026, with an option for a one-year extension. However, there are doubts about whether the Super Eagles star will choose to extend his deal with the club. If he decides not to renew his contract, Atalanta will face the difficult decision of selling him in the summer to avoid losing him for free later on.
Currently valued at €55 million on Transfermarkt, Lookman’s price tag could rise depending on his performances in the remaining months of the season. The player, who started his career in England, is reportedly keen on a return to the Premier League.
