AFCON 2021: Aboubakar scores again as Burkina Faso join Cameroon while Cape Verde wait
Vincent Aboubakar was on target again in Cameroon’s 1-1 draw against Cape Verde at Stade Olembe as teams in Group play their final group games.
The Indomitable Lion captain continued his hot streak scoring against Cape Verde for his 5th goal of the tournament.
Vincent Aboubakar scored the first goal of the game in the 39th minutes and Garry Rodrigues came from the bench to draw Cape Verde level.
Cape Verde’s goal came from their only shot on target.
In the other Group A game, Ethiopia secured a shocking 1-1 draw against Burkina Faso. Cyrille Bayala 24th minutes strike put the Stallions up but Walia ibex pulled back from the spot kick in the 53rd minutes.
The two games completed the group game fixtures in group A. Cameroon finished top 7 points, Burkina Faso 4 points, Cape Verde 4 points and Ethiopia 1 point.
Cameroon who have qualified were joined by Burkina Faso while Cape Verde will wait for their fate if they will make it as one of the best losers.
