AFCON 2021: Simon Moses named Man of Match against Sudan
Simon Moses has been named the man of the match in Super Eagles of Nigeria’s 3-1 win against Jediane of Sudan in their AFCON 2021 Group D game played on Saturday.
The Nantes striker continued from where he stopped in the first game with another quality display as Nigeria dispatched Sudan at the Roumde Adjia Stadium.
As usual, Simon Moses started the match the liveliest of the Super Eagles on parade and ended with the same energy.
He provided Nigeria’s first goal scored by Samuel Chukwueze in the 3rd minutes of the game and also scored his in the 46th minutes to complete the 3-1 rout.
Moses Simon made two key passes, completed 3-of-4 attempted dribbles, won 7-of-8 duels he contested for, won 2 tackles and completed 2-of-5 crosses he attempted.
As pointed in his stat as good as he is, he needs to work on his passes in the final third.
He dedicated his award to his teammates and technical staff.
“I want to thank the team and the technical staff, I believe the man of the match goes to the team,” said Moses.
Simon Moses has now contributed three out of the four goals by Nigeria at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.
He assisted Kelechi Iheanacho‘s goal in the first game, assisted and scored a goal in the second game.
