AFCON 2022: Motsepe to announce final decision on Wednesday?
Will it be moved or still hold?
CAF President Patrice Motsepe will announce the final decision on the hosting or postponement of AFCON 2022 on Wednesday.
According to various reports the decision has been made by the CAF members to continue with the tournament as scheduled.
The 2022 AFCON is scheduled for January 9th to February 6th in Cameroon.
But there have been calls by managers of top European such as Jurgen Klopp for the tournament to be moved.
FIFA President Gainni Infatino has also reportedly asked the tournament to be moved.
Despite the call, the majority of CAF Executive Committee have voted in a meeting om Sunday for AFCON to be played in it’s appointed date.
CAF President Patrice Motsepe will fly to Cameroon in the next hours to communicate a final decision on AFCON to be played this January or to be cancelled as FIFA’s president Gianni Infantino wishes.
