AFCON 2025 to Make History with Augmented Reality Experience in Morocco

The 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco is set to make history as the first-ever edition of the tournament to feature Augmented Reality (AR) technology, offering fans a new level of excitement and engagement.
Organisers say the innovation will allow spectators across Morocco and beyond to enjoy immersive digital experiences that connect football, culture, and technology.
Fans attending matches will be able to interact with AR mascots, explore the rich history of African football, and unlock exclusive behind-the-scenes content by scanning QR codes displayed around stadiums.
The tournament will also showcase 3D façade projections and large LED displays, transforming venues into colourful digital arenas filled with light, animation, and storytelling.
AFCON 2025 is expected to be more than just a football competition — it will be a celebration of African creativity and technological progress, showing the continent’s growing influence in global digital innovation.
