AFCON stars Onuachu and Inao Oulai shine as Trabzonspor beat Kasimpasa 2-1

Paul Onuachu and Christ Inao Oulai combined to give Trabzonspor a 2-1 win over Kasimpasa in the Turkish Super Lig on Friday.
The Ivorian-Nigerian duo helped the hosts secure their second league win in a row. Inao Oulai, the 19-year-old midfielder who starred for the Elephants at the AFCON, played a perfect pass into the box for Onuachu, who finished calmly to give Trabzonspor the lead.
The Super Eagles striker now has 12 goals in 16 league games, just one behind the league’s top scorer, Eldor Shomurodov. Kasimpasa’s Malian forward Fousseni Diabaté equalised just after the hour mark, but Oleksandr Zubkov’s late strike, assisted by fellow Nigerian Anthony Nwakaeme off the bench, sealed the win for Trabzonspor. It was Nwakaeme’s first goal contribution of the season.
Inao Oulai has also enjoyed a strong start to the campaign. After a promising 2024-25 season in France’s Ligue 2 with Bastia, the young midfielder has scored twice and provided four assists in 12 games across league and cup competitions. He impressed at the AFCON in Morocco and earned a place in Elephants coach Emerse Faé’s XI as one of the tournament’s standout talents.
Trabzonspor remain third in the Super Lig, just one point behind Fenerbahce and two behind Victor Osimhen’s Galatasaray. They will face Antalyaspor away next Friday.
