AFCON U-20: Nigeria, and 7 others fight for U-20 World Cup tickets

Who are the AFCON U20 Quarterfinalists?

Nigeria, Senegal, South Sudan, and five others are in the mix as we head into the business end at the ongoing AFCON U-20 in Egypt tomorrow.

All eight quarterfinalists have been decided and they are Nigeria, Senegal, Benin, Uganda, Tunisia, Congo, Gambia, and South Sudan.

Senegal and Nigeria finished 1st, and 2nd in Group A, Uganda, and Congo finished 1st, and 2nd in Group B, Gambia, and Tunisia finished 1st and 2nd in Group C.

South Sudan with 4 points and Benin republic with 2 points qualified as the two best losers.

Senegal and Gambia are the only teams who had maximum points in the Group stages.

Quarterfinal Fixtures

Thursday, March 2, 2023
Senegal U-20 v Benin U-20 3 pm
Uganda U-20 v Nigeria U-20 6 pm

Friday, March 3, 2023
Gambia U-20 v South Sudan U-20 3 pm
Congo U-20 v Tunisia U-20 6 pm

All four winners will advance to the semi-finals of the competition, but more importantly, qualify to represent Africa at the FIFA U20 World Cup finals in Indonesia.
