AFCON U-23Q: Chukwueze, Nwakali and Awoniyi vow to take down Libya U23
Three Olympics Eagles players have confirmed that they will take down Libya U-23 in the second leg of their AFCON U-23 qualifier scheduled for Monday at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba.
Nigeria suffered a shocking 2-0 -loss to Libya in the first leg of the qualifiers played in Tunisia last week and must overcome the deficit to make it to the next round.
The team’s assistant captain Kelechi Nwakali backed his side to make it to the next round if they play as a team.
“The first game is gone and now we have to win the second game.
“I believe once we play as a team, we will qualify.”
In form Taiwo Awoniyi also stated categorically that the belief the Nigerians have in them will spur them to victory on Monday.
“It was a difficult game in Tunisia and unfortunately we lost the game.
“We have to fight for the team and for Nigeria.
“Nigerians have a lot of belief in this team and we will be victorious.”
Villarreal teen sensation also expects the team to make it to the next lines considering the talents in the squad.
“I believe we can turn it around against Libya.
“We can do more than we did in Tunisia and we have the top players like Kelechi Nwakali, Orji Okonkwo and Awoniyi to do it.”
The match will be played on Monday at Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba by 4 pm.
