AFN announces Nigerian trials date for upcoming competitions
The Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) has officially announced the dates for the National Trials, which will serve as the selection process for the African Athletics Championships and the Paris Olympic Games.
According to a press release by the federation’s Secretary General, Rita Mosindi, the National Trials are scheduled to take place from June 16th to 18th at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City, Edo State.
The trials will be crucial in selecting Nigeria’s representatives for several upcoming international events. Among these events are:
- The Africa Senior Athletics Championships in Douala, Cameroon, taking place from June 21st to 26th.
- The Paris Olympic Games, which will be held from July 26th to August 11th.
- The World U20 Championships in Lima, Peru, from August 27th to 31st.
