Afolabi: Abia Warriors Focused on Akwa United After Remo Stars Defeat

Abia Warriors defender Isaac Afolabi has assured fans that the team has moved on from their defeat to Remo Stars and is fully focused on their next Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) match against Akwa United.

Despite taking a two-goal lead, Abia Warriors suffered a 3-2 loss to league leaders Remo Stars in Ikenne on matchday 21. Afolabi blamed the result on a lapse in concentration but promised a much better performance on Sunday.

“We are more than 100% ready for the game because we lost our away match. We have to give our best to get the three points. It’s important for us and for the team as a whole,” the left-back said.

Abia Warriors will be looking to secure a win against Akwa United, who held them to a 1-1 draw in the reverse fixture at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo. The two teams also played a 1-1 draw in a friendly match at the Uyo Township Stadium two weeks ago.
