African Games: ‘Nigeria not scared of any team’ – Chris Udah declares
Nigeria volleyball player, Chris Udah, has expressed confidence in the men’s volleyball team as they prepare for the 13th African Games in Ghana this month.
Udah, who was included in the final 12-man squad by the Nigeria Volleyball Federation, stated that the team is not intimidated by any top opposition.
In an interview with ACLSPORTS, Udah shared his excitement about being selected for the African Games team and emphasized the team’s goal of winning a medal at the tournament.
“We are not scared of any team that will be grouped with us at the 13th Africa Games,” Udah affirmed. “We have quality players on the ground, and the coaches have been able to inject other innovations into the team. Other teams should be the ones feeling the heat, not us.”
Expressing gratitude for the opportunity to represent Nigeria, Udah credited God and the coaches for believing in him. He also stressed the team’s determination to achieve success at the African Games.
“Our expectation is to come home with a medal,” Udah stated confidently. “We have to take it step by step, have the winning mentality in the team, and the team can go all the way. The Arabs have been consistent, but we are definitely going to give them a good fight.”
Regarding the defending champions Cameroon, Udah emphasized the team’s respect for them off the court but made it clear that once on the court, it would be a different scenario, signaling the team’s readiness to compete fiercely.
