Africa’s Quadri and Assar in the mix as the 2017 ITTF Men’s World Cup kicks off in Belgium

The 2017 ITTF Men’s World Cup will kick off tomorrow in Liege, Belgium.

The three days event will be hosted at the Country’s Hall De Liege.

Twenty competitors have traveled to Liege to fulfill country and personal ambitions, of the lots, includes Africa’s number one and two players, Aruna Quadri and Omar Assar.

Europe will field seven contestants with Simon Gauzy, Kon Lie, and Alex Shibaver.

Asian representative at the campaign are 2017 ITTF Asian Cup Champion, Lin Gaoyuen, joined by Lee Sangsu, Chan Chien-An, Jun Mizutani, Jeong Sangeum, Chuang Chih -Yuan, also Koki Niwa and Ma Long as World Champion.

Others representing Europe includes Timo Boll, who Aruna Quadri defeated 4-2 in the fourth round of the Rio Olympics to become the first Africa to get to the quarter-final of the Olympics.

On the list also are Dimitrij Ortcharov, Marcos Frietas participating via Wild Card entry, while Cedric Nuytinck qualifies as the host nation representative.

Aruna Quadri and Omar Assar are unseeded at the tournament.
