Agent confirms PSG have tabled bid for Napoli striker

Following the exit of Kylian Mbappe, French Champions PSG have identified possible replacements and even made a bid for one Napoli striker as confirmed by his agent.

According to multiple sources, the agent of Napoli striker Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Mamuka Jugeli, has provided an update on the Georgian winger’s future.

Jugeli confirmed that Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has made an offer for Kvaratskhelia, but also clarified that there is no interest from Saudi Arabian clubs in his client.

PSG is preparing for the potential exit of Kylian Mbappe and has identified Napoli’s Kvaratskhelia and Victor Osimhen as key targets.

While PSG can secure Osimhen by activating his €130 million release clause, acquiring Kvaratskhelia will be more complex.

Kvaratskhelia, who was named the MVP of the 2022/23 Serie A season, has a contract with Napoli until 2028, and there is no release clause in his deal.

Negotiations will depend heavily on Napoli’s president, Aurelio de Laurentiis, who is known for his reluctance to part with key players. De Laurentiis has previously expressed his desire to keep Kvaratskhelia beyond the summer transfer window.

Jugeli, speaking to La Gazzetta.ge, stated, “Saudi Arabia’s interest in Kvaratskhelia is not true. There is interest and an offer from PSG; everything depends on the decision of Napoli and its president.”

After Napoli’s disappointing finish to their title defense, ending the 2023/2024 Italian Serie A season in 10th place, Kvaratskhelia will soon shift his focus to leading Georgia in their EURO 2024 ambitions.
