Ahmed Musa blows hot, calls out ineptitude of Nigerian government over ASUU strike
Super Eagles captain and record appearance-maker Ahmed Musa has spoken up against the Nigerian government using his Instagram account as the ASUU strike entered its fifth month.
The Fatih Karagumruk winger became the first A-list sports star to call out the Nigerian government over their neglect of the educational sector. The country’s universities have been on strike for five months due to unresolved issues between the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) and the federal government.
Having seen many of the country’s government officials attend graduations of their children in other countries, Ahmed Musa chose to speak up against their actions, raising questions about how they left the strike to fester.
“To our political office holders whose children school abroad. How do you feel visiting your children abroad, taking pictures in their schools and posting online while ASUU is on strike?” “Like seriously, how is it ok to you? You’re running a system that you don’t even believe in. Show me one Oyibo leader whose child is schooling in Nigeria. e no dey touch una? And when you return Nigerian youths will still gather and sing praises for una.”
The forward set the Nigerian social media space agog with his post, showing how much he cares about the social ills in the country.
