Ahmed Musa hails man who traveled from Benue to Kano on a bicycle to meet him
Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa has expressed his gratitude to a devoted Nigerian fan who embarked on an extraordinary journey from Benue State to Kano State just to meet him.
Musa, who is the longest-serving Nigeria Super Eagles player, extended his appreciation to the fan through a post on social media.
31-year old Ahmed Musa has been an integral part of the Super Eagles since 2010, amassing over 100 appearances for the national team and showcasing his talent across various European clubs. Notable among his previous clubs are Leicester City and CSKA Moscow, with brief spells at Al Nassr and Fatih Karagumruk before his move to Sivasspor.
Although Musa was included in Nigeria’s squad for the Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast, he did not feature in any of the games but played ‘special’ offield roles as acknowledged by coach Jose Peseiro.
Following the conclusion of AFCON on February 11, the forward has not yet returned to Europe but remained at his base in Kano.
In a heartwarming development, Musa shared photos of himself with the dedicated Nigerian fan, expressing his admiration for the remarkable effort.
The fan, who traveled over 670 kilometers solely relying on his bicycle, left Musa deeply touched by his commitment and support.
“Huge shoutout to this incredible fan who cycled all the way from Benue State just to visit me,” Musa wrote in his appreciation post. “Your dedication and support mean the world to me. Thank you for your unwavering love.”
