Ahmed Musa shines with brace as Kano Pillars defeat Sunshine Stars 2-0 in NPFL matchday five
Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa marked his return to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) in style, scoring both goals as Kano Pillars secured a 2-0 victory over Sunshine Stars in Katsina.
This was Musa’s third stint with the club, having rejoined earlier this week after several months without a club following his spell in Turkey.
The former Leicester City forward displayed his class, weaving past three defenders to curl in a brilliant opener that gave Pillars the lead.
In the second half, Ahmed Musa doubled his tally with another fine finish, sealing a crucial win for Kano Pillars under the guidance of coach Usman Abdallah.
Kano Pillars have also strengthened their squad with the addition of veteran Super Eagles defender Shehu Abdullahi, as they continue their strong start to the NPFL season.
