Aina and Awoniyi in action as Nottingham Forest reach FA Cup Semi-Final

Nottingham Forest’s impressive season continued as they reached the FA Cup semi-finals, with Super Eagles stars Taiwo Awoniyi and Ola Aina in action.

Forest defeated Brighton & Hove Albion 4-3 on penalties after the match ended goalless following extra time. This was their third penalty shootout victory in this season’s FA Cup.

Super Eagles defender Ola Aina played the full match for Forest, just days after featuring in Nigeria’s 1-1 draw against South Africa in the FIFA 2026 World Cup qualifier at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium.

Forest goalkeeper Matz Sels was the hero, saving Jack Hinshelwood’s low shot and stopping Diego Gomez’s effort after Neco Williams had missed his penalty.

Meanwhile, Crystal Palace secured their place in the semi-finals with a 3-0 win over Fulham earlier on Saturday.

In other quarter-final fixtures, Preston North End will host seven-time FA Cup winners Aston Villa, while defending champions Manchester City face Bournemouth.
