Ajayi gets on the scoresheet in West Brom Black Country win
Nigerian defender, Semi Ajayi was on the scoresheet as West Bromwich Albion stole a 3-2 victory over city rivals, Wolverhampton Wanderers in the first Black Country derby of the season. It was the Nigerian’s fifth goal of the season for West Brom in Sam Allardyce’s first win since his appointment.
West Brom took the lead when Matheus Pereira scored from the penalty spot, but Wolves responded with a goal from 18 year old Fabio Silva to secure parity. Wolves got themselves in front when Willy Boly hit the ball in from close range, before Ajayi scored an equaliser for the Baggies. Matheus Pereira scored a second penalty to round up the scoring in the game.
West Brom remain embroiled in the relegation battle despite the win, but it was a welcome three points for them.
